Brandon the Chair of the Cymru Catalunya Cultural Association was born (1951) and brought up in the Rhondda Valley.
He studied at Corpus Christi College (Oxford) where he was captain of the rugby team and where he obtained a degree in French.After his degree Brandon managed restaurants in the centre of London before becoming a Scotch Whisky Export Director for almost 20 years.Following this, Brandon opened a PR agency in Barcelona with his partner with whom he represented BBC Television for four years, setting up their infrastructure for the highly successful Barcelona Olympics.
Brandon has been based in Sitges, a highly creative Mediterranean seaside resort near Barcelona, since 1985 where he was founder member and Chairman of the Sitges English Theatre Company (now in its 20th year), as well as founder member and Chairman of Gay Sitges Link.Seven years ago, he began the Irish-Catalan Festival in Sitges which now counts with over 700 Irish visitors each year at the end of October. Many top Irish musicians, poets and dancers attend the Festival.
Peter was born in Cardiff (1959) and attended Howardian High School before working for the Inland Revenue where he was active in the trade union for 13 years. This led to a trade union career over 25 years, at first working for the union at its headquarters in London, responsible for the Legal scheme and other 'Membership Services'. He ended his career as the Wales Secretary of the Public & Commercial Services Union and member of the Wales TUC General Council. He was actively involved in bidding and running a number of Wales Union Learning projects.
Since early retirement Peter now lived in Catalonia and is Secretary of the Cymru Catalunya Cultural Association. Other interests include the role of Welsh International volunteers in the Spanish Civil War and Catalan art.
